Goal: To recognize club members. Present perfect attendance awards and encourage participation. The committee will work with individual members with attendance concerns through their original sponsor.

 

Programs

Goals: To arrange timely, interesting programs, which balance the four avenues of service. Volunteers will serve as monthly program chairs by arranging all meeting programs presenters for their respective month. Monthly program chairs will make arrangements in accordance with the Club's internal procedures, "Things Rotary Program chairs Need to Do." Emergency programs will be available in case a scheduled speaker is unable to appear. At least four programs per year will focus on Rotary Services (including Club Assemblies). Brief presentations will be made throughout the year to promote various Rotary events and to keep members informed and involved.

VFW Make Up Meetings

Jim Wolcott, Chair
Members: Len Shirrell, Lee Troutwine and Jim Richardson
Goal: To arrange program speakers for the first Monday of each month at the Rotary make up meeting. Club members will share career stories, hobbies or other interest with the group in an informal setting.
Fireside Chats

Carol Palmore, Chair
Members: Don Dykman, Frank Sower

 

Goal: To promote the sharing of ideas, suggestions and comments by the membership regarding various club issues for the purpose of providing feedback to the Board of Directors and the entire club. Informal meetings will be conducted during the fall of the year to elicit feedback from the members.

 

Family of Rotary Dennis Van Horn, Chair
Members: Lee Troutwine, Sherrill Smith
Goal: To promote social interaction, acquaintance and fellowship among members and their families outside of the regular weekly meetings and to encourage participation in Rotary activities. To foster a feeling of warmth and family within the club by including families of Rotarians in fellowship and service events, including families of deceased Rotarians in Rotary sponsored events and other appropriate activities.
Summer Social Lee Troutwine and John Shasky, Co-Chairs Goal: To provide a gathering of Rotarians and their families for the purpose of getting to know one another better while enjoying an old-fashioned picnic along the shores of Elkhorn Creek.

Cincinnati Reds Baseball Game

Joe Johnson, Chair
Members: Pete Walsh and Dave Weller

Goal: To promote this traditional event for Rotarians, their friends and families. To provide fun and fellowship through this chartered bus outing to see the Reds play ball.

Keeneland Outing Lee Troutwine, Ron Christopher, Co-Chairs Member: Len Shirrell

Goal: To offer a gathering of Rotarians and their friends the opportunity to fellowship at the beautiful surroundings of Keeneland Race Track in Lexington, during the Fall meet.

 

Special Projects Barry K. Holder, Chair

Goal: To ensure that any special club project (not falling within the parameters of any other Club Service Committee) is effectively conducted.

 

Public Relations Dean and Kelli Sorg, Co-Chairs

Goal: To coordinate club contacts with various media to effectively communicate with the community, club members, other Rotary clubs and Rotary District 6710 information about club functions, programs and contributions to the community.

The committee will:
- Prepare news releases for The State Journal and other media;

- E-mail news items, announcements and other information to club members, sister club members and the District Governor;

- Arrange for the videotaping and televising of weekly club meetings on Cable 10;

- Maintain the club web-site;

- Be represented at each Board of Directors meeting to stay abreast of club activities;

- Publish the club's weekly newsletter, "The Frankfortarian," and distribute it to all members ;

- E-mail communication to members in case of a change or cancellation of meetings.

Additional Responsibilities:
- Individually work with respective monthly program chairs as PR representatives - Jim Graves and Kelli Sorg

- Write summaries of weekly programs - Joe Johnson , Joyce Honaker and Larry Arnett.

 

Sergeant-At-Arms Jim Richardson, Chair

Goal: Ensure that the logistical requirements of weekly meetings are properly met. The committee will:

- See that the meeting room is properly set up;
- Greet, welcome and sign in members, guest and visitors;
- Provide make up cards to visiting Rotarians;
- Sell raffle tickets;
- Schedule members to contact opening exercises;
- Maintain members' name tags.

Marcie Jeffreys, Chair

Goal: Collect flags and other memorabilia from members to capture a history of the club and maintain a safe depository for club archives. Begin to record digital history of club materials.

Information Technology Bob Johnston, Chair
Members: Tyler West, Dean Sorg and Mark Hampton

Goal: Update Rotary club software program for bookkeeping operations and membership database. Evaluate software and technology options. Work toward publishing database online allowing each member the opportunity to keep their personal information updated. Secure with password.

By-Laws

Tom Braun, Chair
Members: Tony Massey, Phillip Shepherd and Jim Richardson

Goals: Oversee the club By-Laws and recommend shanges to the Board of Directors that comply with the Rotary International standards and are consistent with club practices.
